My wife and I took this tour the last week of April 2018. It was not at all as I had envisioned. 1. The crew seemed nice…at first - Al, the Captain was engaging as we boarded. Among the crew, Nick seemed the most professional and engaging. Sylvester was the bartender - he had a terrible attitude throughout. The tour includes an open bar (more on that), but when we asked Sylvester for a drink, he wouldn't even make eye contact - just scrolling through his phone. When my wife asked him again, he sighed and was clearly agitated that we would interrupt his web surfing. During the ride, we observed him responding to all the guests in the same manner. As the tour progressed, we noticed that the crew's attitude became more abrupt and less cordial. The only expectation was Nick and an older gentlemen who took over bar-tending duties from Sylvester. Nick remained as hospitable and polite as he had in the beginning. 2. We came from the Marriott Resort - there was 8 people in our van (that came from our hotel). When we arrived, we discovered there was about 40 people on the tour (estimate). Pretty congested but not a show stopper. 3. There were two bathrooms on the boat. 5 mins after leaving the dock, we discovered the right-side bathroom was out of order. Al made an announcement over the intercom to not come tell him the bathroom was not working. The other "working" bathroom was overflowing with urine, and there was an inch of sloshing urine in the floor of the bathroom. To make matters worse, the first requirement before boarding the boat was everyone had to remove their shoes. Ugh! 4. The snorkeling gear was not functional. I am a certified master diver (PADI) - I did not expect the gear to be professional grade - it's a tour with a lot of amateur users. But the equipment should be functional - masks not leaking and snorkels that don't fill with water on every breath. Our gear was not functional. My wife and I still swam around the boat, but the that was not what the tour advertising touted. 5. Throughout the ride, Al played rap music at full volume on the loud speakers. Not a big deal, and clearly many people enjoyed the music....to include the crew. On the return to the port, the crew left their stations and began dancing with the intoxicated clients. Again, probably not a major problem until the crew became familiar enough to begin grinding their crotches on the women. I quickly grabbed my wife and moved her to a corner of the boat that was not participating in the dancing and drinking. A couple of points. In retrospect, I should have realized that "open bar" meant a drunk-fest; one woman was literally unable to get off the boat when we returned to the dock without each arm draped over a man. Clearly some people enjoyed the atmosphere and disregarded the poor attitudes. Bottom line - if you want to go on a boat tour with 30-40 drunken tourists, this is a good option for you. But you must factor in that the crew members that look like they are gang members, rub their crotches on the women, and have bad attitudes. Also consider that you will have bathrooms that are filthy and inoperative, and snorkeling gear that doesn't work as intended. I would absolutely dissuade anyone from taking this tour with children – the environment is completely inappropriate. I rated this tour as a one-star because the program will not allow a zero-star.

We went on a half-day snorkel tour on a Blue Water Safaris sailing catamaran in February 2018. The boat was well equipped, well handled by a skilled and cheerful crew, and the snorkeling session lasted until everyone had seen and swum their fill - and that is when things got really remarkable: It is advertised as a drinks + lunch tour. True enough, and the drink selections were varied, tasty and generous. But lunch was more like a feast! It was served buffet style while we sat at anchor and included a half dozen delicious entrees of salads, fruit, breads, etc. plus some freshly cooked local dishes whose name I can't pronounce but to which I returned for seconds and thirds. All of the passengers ate like locusts, and the more we ate the happier the crew seemed. We learned that most of them are close neighbors in a village outside Basseterre, have sailed together for years on end, and that they take turns preparing the lunches - each contributing their own specialty dish. In hindsight, I wish we had stayed on St. Kitts for a week, just to have booked their tour daily and stuffed ourselves on their superb food!!!
