We were skeptical as recent reviews said it had gone downhill, and it was empty at 19:30 on a Friday, but the menu sounded good and we wanted to give it a shot.
Veg Spring rolls were good.
The menu says that all the mains are for two to share (we confirmed this with the waitress). We ordered the "stir fried vegetables wine rice garlic sauce". It came on a small plate (the same size that our two mini spring rolls were served on) and had some lettuce, broccoli, sliced carrot and less than a tablespoon of sauce. It came with a huge bowl of completely plain rice.
We politely said to the waitress that it was a lot less than expected, so we ordered another main (Thai green curry, which was actually big enough for two).
At the end, I carefully said to the waitress that I didn't think we should pay full price for the vegetable dish as it was the size of a small starter. She laughed and gave us the full bill.
We then spoke to the owner/manager who was instantly extremely offended and, in short, could not piece together a single logical argument. He refused to take anything off the bill, so I asked if we could take off the service charge; he also refused. Additionally, he refused to speak or make eye contact with my girlfriend, and even gestured for her to step aside when she spoke.
At this point I asked how we could resolve it, to which he responded by getting his mate to go find a friend who is an off duty police officer. We felt pretty threatened as the restaurant was completely empty (that should have warned us) and we had no idea who was going to come back.
The plain-clothed policeman showed us his ID and politely told us that if we didn't pay the full amount he'd take us to the police station. With no further options available, we paid, thanked the police officer (although we disagreed with him, he was actually quite reasonable).
We've never experienced service like this before and would recommend everyone avoiding this establishment as, although we tried to be extremely polite and reasonable, our modest requests were laughed at, we were called liars, and it was ultimately resolved by them calling their mate to threaten us to pay.
This isn't how to run a restaurant, and I hope the owner reflects and improves, or remembers this interaction when he has to shut the restaurant down after sliding even further down the recommendations list.
Take a seat on the outside and watch life in Basseterre go by... There is usually also a nice cool breeze.
The food is EXCELLENT, and the service is good. The Sizzled Seafood is definitely worth it, along with the vegetable spring rolls are also great. To top off your meal you MUST try their signature lemongrass ice cream!!
You definitely won’t regret your visit and meal!
First off everyone in the restaurant had their head up their ass. The waiter saw us once when we got there and then never came back to the table to give refills or inform us why the hell the food was taking ages. Second we waited 1hr and 20 minutes to get ANY food to the table. Finally the price for the food was ridiculous. I got the spicy coconut shrimp and the price worked out to $2.47 PER SHRIMP. These weren’t big shrimp at all and they were tough. Avoid this restaurant like plague. A waste of 1 hr and 45 minutes of my life.
Great food, great location, fast and attentive service. If you are looking for an authentic Indian/Thai cuisine, this is the spot. Highly recommended for vegetarians and omnivores alike. With it's near-shore location anyone in the area should give this place a shot!

::The rice was cold and tasted as if it was previously cooked, as few days ago and reheated. The previous owner's food was better
